Untitled, Untilted
Hi! Every year around this time I become extra blue thinking about my friend José Esteban Muñoz, whom I never stop missing. This year in September, many of us who’d collaborated with him got together for a conference at NYU, thanks to Gayatri Gopinath and her staff at the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality. The Public Feelings crew was partly there, the NYU people, the students and subjects of his thought and attention, people who’d been around his world but not when he was alive…
Anyway, it was great to see everyone. Many worlds shook and recombined when he died. He connected many of us: we became sticky in common. So I thought I’d post the paper I gave there, in tribute to his thinking. I think there’s thinking in the paper too.
